Soapstone Carving Kits

Rubble Road soapstone carving kits are available in three general sizes and in a great variety of basic pre-cut animal and dinosaur shapes.  Each kit contains everything you need to create your very own soapstone carving: 1 soapstone animal cutout, 3 stages of sandpaper, 1 tube of food grade tung oil and instructions.  The medium and large kits also contain a rasp.   All our kits make a great gift for any age.

The soapstone looks grey when in its raw/rough form but once carved and oiled you will see that each beautiful creation will have its own unique colour or variegated colours.  

Small 2D kits are all rated easy and great for ages 5 and up.  Contents include 1 soapstone animal, 3 stages of sandpaper, 1 tube of finishing oil and instructions. Note: these small 2D carvings lay flat whereas the 3D carvings stand up and/or shaped on all sides.

Medium 3D kits have individual difficulty ratings of easy, medium and hard.  These are good for about ages 8 and up.  Contents: 1 soapstone animal, 1 rasp, 3 stages of sandpaper, 1 tube of finishing oil, and instructions.

Large 3D kits have individual difficulty ratings of easy, medium and hard.  These are generally good for ages 12 and up.  Contents: 1 soapstone animal, 1 rasp, 3 stages of sandpaper, 1 tube of finishing oil, and instructions.
